Of Counsel Steven Burke and Associate Annie Smiddy have joined Meyers Nave’s Managing Principal, David Skinner, in relocating the firm’s San Diego operations to a new downtown office location that accommodates the Firm’s growth. “Meyers Nave’s expansion in San Diego is in direct response to our clients’ ever-increasing demand for committed, locally-based, high-quality legal services. Meet Our San Diego Team:
David Skinner is the Managing Principal of Meyers Nave. A renowned trial attorney with over 28 years of experience, David represents public agencies and private entities throughout California in a wide range of complex eminent domain transactions and litigation. He has extensive experience developing and implementing practical, cost-effective and time-sensitive land acquisition strategies, as well as coordinating complex multi-party litigation. David has successfully tried numerous jury and bench trials in Southern and Northern California, and has handled several appeals that have established important legal precedents.
Steve Burke is a member of the Trial and Litigation Practice and Municipal and Special District Law Practice. He provides advisory, regulatory, transactional and litigation services to public entities, private businesses and non-profit mutual benefit corporations. He handles all stages of litigation and administrative proceedings, from pre-claim through resolution, on a wide scope of disputes. In the non-litigation arena, Steve advises on business formation, negotiating and drafting contracts, and evaluating statutory compliance. For public entities, he provides a comprehensive range of expertise leveraging his service as a Deputy City Attorney for the City of Oceanside.
Annie Smiddy is a member of the Eminent Domain Practice and Trial and Litigation Practice. She represents public entities and private businesses in litigation, transactions and regulatory matters. Annie manages cases from the initial complaint through trial preparation, mediation, and civil bench trials. She advises on and litigates complex eminent domain issues, including pre-condemnation damages, severance damages, loss of business goodwill, lease bonus value, and relocation benefits. She also handles matters involving class actions, commercial litigation, construction, real estate, and employment.
