Michael F. Rodriquez
Michael Rodriquez practices municipal law with an emphasis in labor and employment
and land use. He has successfully represented a number of cities—including
San Leandro, Stockton and Sonoma—in disciplinary appeals at the administrative
level and in Superior Court. He has served as city attorney and redevelopment
agency counsel for the cities and redevelopment agencies of Gonzales and Soledad
and is district counsel for the Moss Landing Harbor District and counsel for
the West Contra Costa Transportation Advisory Committee. He has served as interim
city attorney for the City of Salinas on two different occasions.
Mr. Rodriquez is a frequent presenter on Brown Act and ethics issues. He previously
served on the Legal Advocacy Committee for the League of California Cities and
on the editorial board for the League of California Cities’ California
Municipal Law Handbook. The editorial board oversees the annual updating and
editing of the handbook. Mr. Rodriquez has taught legal writing at the University
of California at Berkeley (Boalt Hall) and has served as an instructor for the
Alameda Independent Living Skills Program, where he taught legal rights and
principles to emancipated minors.
