City of Reno and Reno Redevelopment Agency
Aces Stadium and Downtown Freight House District Project

Meyers Nave assisted the City of Reno and Reno Redevelopment Agency with Aces Baseball Stadium and downtown Freight House District Project.
In 2007 the City of Reno inked a deal with SK Baseball to bring a Triple A baseball team to Reno. The Reno Aces’ proposed home was a new $50 million ballpark that would become the center of a mixed-use downtown development known as the Freight House District. Proposed projects include large residential build-outs, retail, arts and entertainment facilities, and dining and nightlife spots.
Meyers Nave assisted the City of Reno and the Reno Redevelopment Agency in assembling 8 acres of land for the private construction of the stadium and represented the Agency in connection with development of the stadium site and Freight House District projects. Tasks included the negotiation and drafting of complex disposition and development agreements, ground leases, property exchange and option agreements, retail leases, and financing documents..jpg)
The Reno Aces played their opening game on April 17, 2009. Over 9,000 fans attended the game, bringing new customers to downtown businesses, who reported a surge in patrons on game days. Local and national media, including National Public Radio, have reported on the stadium project and downtown development. The project has gained significant community support, with residents feeling optimistic about the economic potential and quality of life benefits the mixed-use development will have in the long-term.
