City of Union City
Downtown Transit-Oriented Neighborhood Project

Meyers Nave is representing the City of Union City in its planning process for a compact new pedestrian- and transit -oriented mixed-use development near the City’s BART station. The development will include high-density residential, office and retail uses.
The City has called the project “a massive construction project that will transform the Union City BART Station into a spectacular, world-class, solar-powered, intermodal transit hub” and an opportunity to “transform former industrial acreage ...into a vibrant, intergrated downtown neighborhood that will enable residents to live, work, shop and play in the same area.”
In connection with the project, Meyers Nave advised City and agency staff in their discussions with major transit and passenger rail providers, including BART, AC Transit, ACE Train, Capitol Corridor and Dumbarton Rail. Meyers Nave also advised the City and agency in negotiations with the master developer. The firm prepared all legal documents necessary for the accomplishment of the project as envisioned.
