Business Development and Marketing Manager (Los Angeles, CA)

Meyers Nave currently has an exciting hybrid opportunity for a Business Development and Marketing Manager who is ready to be challenged within a top mid-sized California law firm. This position will support broad business development and marketing efforts firmwide. This position is a hybrid role located in our Los Angeles office.

Attorneys work in multi-disciplinary teams to help public agencies, private businesses and non-profit organizations navigate complex local, state and federal laws and regulations. Meyers Nave was founded over 35 years ago and has grown into a state-wide firm with approximately 65 attorneys in four locations.


Working under the direction of the Director of Business Development and Marketing and with the Department’s other Manager, and the support of the Department’s Specialists and Assistant, the Business Development and Marketing Manager supports strategic client development efforts and various marketing initiatives including all written content. This position works directly with attorneys, firm management, Marketing Department colleagues and other administrative personnel to develop, write and deliver compelling and creative content for pitches and proposals, website and collateral, designed to obtain new business from current and prospective clients. Our ideal candidate must possess a strong work ethic and the ability to work both independently and as part of a broader, cross-functional team.


  • Support the development of collateral materials, such as group descriptions, attorney biographies, practice area capability statements, web content, and proposal contents.
  • Assist in developing marketing pitch and proposal materials, including formatting and proofreading content.
  • Support the execution of marketing and business development strategies, plans, projects and branded events.
  • Support key client and client growth initiatives.
  • Assist in identifying and organizing profile-raising activities of the firm and its attorneys, such as events/webinars, community involvement, conference involvement, rankings and directories.
  • Manage the database of representative experience for use in marketing collateral.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and provide back-up to fellow members of the Business Development & Marketing team when necessary.
  • Travel to Meyers Nave offices and other locations as needed to support initiatives and participate in activities.


General Essential Functions:

  • Writing / Designing / Editing: Possesses strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills. Graphic design experience a plus.
  • Planning / Adaptability: Adapts readily to competing demands by shifting priorities.
  • Client / Customer Focus: Strong client service orientation and an ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Demonstrates familiarity and understanding of significant attorney-client relationships. Observes and passes on information to further develop relationships to support business development efforts.
  • Time Management and Organizational Skills: High level of detail orientation. Able to anticipate work needs and follow through with minimum direction, and follows up on own initiative to manage multiple projects at once.
  • This is a hybrid role with an in-office requirement of 2-3 days a week and the ability to work extended hours as needed.

Qualifications / Experience / Education:

  • This role demands a highly organized, detail-oriented individual with a strong client service orientation, and ability to collaborate successfully within a matrix organization.
  • The ideal candidate will possess excellent superior digital, written and verbal communication skills, online research capabilities, experience with marketing systems and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Candidate should have 5-7 years of marketing or business development experience in a law firm.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.

The salary range for this California-based role is $130,000 to $155,000, and represents the firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.  Actual compensation will depend upon a number of factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s years of experience, qualifications, skill set and office location.
