City of Bell Hires Meyers Nave Attorney James Casso As Interim City Attorney

Oakland, CA – The City of Bell announced today that it has retained attorney James Casso from the law firm of Meyers Nave to serve as its interim City Attorney.

Meyers Nave will assist the City through this challenging period. “Meyers Nave was selected based on its reputation as one of the state’s premier public law firms. Meyers Nave has a proven and impeccable reputation for handling high profile matters,” City of Bell Mayor Oscar Hernandez said. “The City of Bell believed it was essential for the public to have complete confidence in the city’s review of the various allegations – Jamie was appointed as the interim City Attorney based on his extensive experience, expertise as a city attorney and special counsel to public agencies, and his outstanding reputation as a community leader.” Edward Lee, previously with the firm Best, Best & Krieger, resigned as the City of Bell’s City Attorney.

“It’s important that we move quickly to address the situation and develop necessary recommendations,” said Casso, “We want to assure the residents of the City of Bell and the public that we will address the allegations with integrity and efficiency.”
