City of San Bruno Names Meyers Nave as Special Counsel and Special Master for PG&E Pipeline Explosion
The City of San Bruno hired Meyers Nave as its Special Counsel and Special Master to handle the legal and crisis management matters relating to the devastating and tragic pipeline explosion that killed eight people and destroyed 37 homes on September 9, 2010.
Meyers Nave will handle the extensive investigation, legal analysis , public relations, website control, legislative relations, Public Records Act requests, remedial legislation, negotiation with PG&E and all regulatory agencies for pipeline relocation, and the new franchise issuance and franchise regulatory ordinance. The City of San Bruno is currently grappling with numerous public records requests, various lawsuits, and handling the day-to-day issues relating to the aftermath of the explosion.
“Meyers Nave was selected based on our proven reputation for handling high profile matters,” Principal Steven Meyers said. We are addressing the varied and complex matters relating to the explosion and we are developing the necessary recommendations to the City of San Bruno during this difficult and challenging time.
