Richmond Memorial Auditorium
Please join Meyers Nave Senior Associate Eric Casher and Tamara Miller, the City of Pinole’s Development Services Director and City Engineer, for a presentation titled “AB 626: What It Means and How to Comply” at the 2017 Public Works Conference hosted by the American Public Works Association’s Northern California Chapter on November 9.
AB 626 significantly changes how public entities will resolve contractor claims on public works projects awarded after January 1, 2017. The new law establishes a strict resolution timeline; creates new claim procedures affecting notice, submission, and written responses to contractor claims; and sets new steps for meet-and-confer conferences and subsequent mediation.
Eric and Tamara will address key questions raised by the new law:
- How will the new claims process impact public works employees in the field?
- How should public entities implement new requirements in public works contracts?
- How can claim procedures be enforced in the closeout and litigation/arbitration phases?
- How can public agencies resolve claims that arise from public works projects?
Date: Thursday, November 9
Time: 10:45-11:45 AM
Location: Richmond Memorial Auditorium, 450 Civic Center Plaza, Richmond, CA
