Bargaining Perspectives From A Management and A Union Expert

Please join Eddie Kreisberg, Co-Chair of Meyers Nave’s Labor and Employment Law Practice, for a presentation on “Bargaining Perspectives from a Management and a Union Expert.” Eddie will be joined by labor association counsel Rockne Lucia. They will present during the California Public Employers Labor Relations Association’s Annual Training Conference November 18-22 in Monterey, CA.

Eddie and Rockne will share their management and union side perspectives on negotiations, and how those perspectives influence the collective bargaining process. Both have negotiated and advised on pension, health, retiree health, layoffs, leaves, management rights, union rights, overtime and work schedule issues, among others. Eddie and Rockne will discuss the realities of working out deals on these and other hot labor issues. They also will discuss how they prepare for negotiations and work with their principles, as well as the realities of bargaining impasses, fact-finding and unfair labor practices. Finally, Eddie and Rockne will share practical insights on how to balance all parties’ rights and goals, while still getting to “yes” (or at least maintaining good labor relations).

The CALPELRA conference provides educational programs and training sessions for public sector management representatives who are responsible for developing and implementing labor relations and human resource programs for cities, counties, school districts, state university systems, special districts and state government organizations. The conference meets credit and certification requirements for MCLE, SHRM, HRCI and IPMA-HR.
