Please join Meyers Nave Senior Associate Eric Casher for a presentation titled “Prevailing Wage Briefing: Fundamentals and Practical Tips” at the Annual Public Works Conference of the American Public Works Association’s Northern California Chapter. Eric’s co-panelist is Tamara Miller, the Development Services Director and City Engineer for the City of Pinole.
Public contracting can be highly technical and oftentimes confusing when considering all the rules related to the California Labor Code, in particular, prevailing wage requirements and DIR Registration and contracting requirements. Being knowledgeable and savvy about these Labor Code requirements is critical to the effective and efficient procurement and execution of public works contracts. Eric and Tamara will draw on recent case examples to provide a real-world, practical overview of the California Labor Code requirements for public contracting, along with practical tips to keep public works projects on schedule and on budget. They will also discuss legislative and case law updates that impact prevailing wage issues, and new registration requirements for contractors and subcontractors on public works projects.
