The General Manager’s performance is critical to the success of every Special District. The selection, development, review and retention of the right General Manager is one of the Board’s top priorities. Please join John Bakker, Chair of Meyers Nave’s Municipal and Special District Law Practice, for a presentation titled “Conducting Effective General Manager Evaluations: Keys to Success” at the Special District Leadership Academy hosted by the California Special Districts Association.
As John will explain, the General Manager performance review process is most effective when it goes beyond measuring performance to also include an open dialogue about goals, expectations and accountability. The session will give attendees the tools to conduct effective General Manager evaluations that will help assure that the Board and the General Manager are aligned on the direction, goals and strategies for their Special District.
