Jose Sanchez Named “Top 40 Under 40”
Meyers Nave proudly announces that Principal Jose Sanchez has been named one of the “Top 40 Under 40” professionals in the greater Sacramento region. As the publication explained, “we are honoring an impressive group of professionals who excel in their careers and in volunteer service. The judges look for leaders and innovators who are making a mark in the business community and public sector. They also look for people who have contributed to the civic health of the Sacramento region through volunteer work and other forms of philanthropy.” The list encompasses all professions.
Jose earned the recognition based on his role as City Attorney for Livingston and Cloverdale, Assistant City Attorney for Modesto and Rancho Cordova, Chair of Meyers Nave’s Diversity Fellowship Recruitment Committee, and his participation in the Cruz Reynoso Bar Association. Jose joined Meyers Nave in 2005 as an Associate in the Sacramento office after graduating from law school. He was elected to Principal in 2015.
Jose provides advice on the full range of legal issues facing Cities and Special Districts, including the Brown Act, Public Records Act, Political Reform Act, other conflicts of interest laws, land use, environmental issues, public contracts and bidding, code enforcement, employment law, and union matters. As City Attorney, Jose serves as the chief legal officer of the City and is relied upon to provide both general and specialty legal advice that is critical for minimizing a City’s potential liabilities, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws, and forging a path through new legal challenges that emerge every day. In a recent news article featuring Jose’s work, Jose explained the essence of his commitment to community service – “I enjoy helping communities with their problems.”
