Jose Sanchez Selected Among Sacramento’s “Best of the Bar”
Meyers Nave proudly announces that the Sacramento Business Journal selected Principal Jose M. Sanchez to its 2019 list of “Top Lawyers” who are considered “some of the region’s most prominent and well respected attorneys.” Jose is a member of Meyers Nave’s Municipal and Special District Law Practice Group and currently serves as City Attorney for the cities of Livingston and Cloverdale, Assistant City Attorney for the City of Modesto, and Town Attorney for the Town of Windsor. Jose is a member of Meyers Nave’s Diversity Committee.
The “Best of the Bar” attorneys were nominated and vetted by a panel of peers who assessed each candidate’s experience and reputation within the legal community. In addition to serving as a guide to the expertise of local attorneys, the special publication also asked the honorees about the most important legal issues of the day, how they got started in the legal profession, and who their legal heroes are.
Jose’s published Q&A interview is excerpted below.

Q: Who first got you interested in law?
A: Not knowing what the profession entailed, in elementary school I decided I wanted to be an attorney. The excitement and sense of pride that gave my parents made me continue to pursue that goal until achieving it in 2005.
Q: Who is your hero within the legal profession?
A: Cruz Reynoso
Q: What is the most important legal issue facing the region, state or nation?
A: Homelessness and the creation of affordable housing. I see these issues as being one due to their correlation. The laws involved in this critical topic are complex and evolving.
