Meyers Nave Congratulates Eric Danly on Being Appointed as the In-House City Attorney for the City of Petaluma

SANTA ROSA, CA – The City of Petaluma voted at its June 3 City Council meeting to appoint Eric Danly as the City’s in-house City Attorney.  Eric has served as Petaluma’s City Attorney while a Principal at Meyers Nave since his appointment on December 5, 2005.  Meyers Nave has provided legal services to the City of Petaluma since 1994.

“I am thrilled to be invited to continue serving the City of Petaluma as its in-house City Attorney,” said Eric Danly.  “I know the City, its decision makers, staff, and legal issues well, having served as Petaluma’s chief legal counsel since December, 2005.  I am proud to have the opportunity to continue to represent such an excellent and unique community, and to help the City establish an-house legal services department.  At the same time, I will miss my long-time colleagues and friends at Meyers Nave.  I have enjoyed and benefitted tremendously from working with such terrific attorneys and staff.  I will also miss the many other clients I have served while a member of Meyers Nave, especially the City Cloverdale, which I have been proud to serve as its City Attorney since October, 2002.”

Eric Danly has been a Principal at Meyers Nave for seven years.  He has been a member of the firm since 1998, having joined as a law clerk.  He has advised municipalities, public agencies and special districts in all aspects of the law, with a special focus on prevailing wage law, public contract law, and open meetings and records law.  Eric is an active member of the League of California Cities City Attorneys’ Department.  He serves as the Chair of the Department’s Public Records Act Committee.
