Meyers Nave Selected to Provide Counsel for the Water Relenishment District of Southern California

Los Angeles, CA -The Water Replenishment District (WRD) of Southern California has selected Meyers Nave to serve as legal counsel.

Attorney James M. Casso will be District Counsel for WRD.

WRD, headquartered in Lakewood, was founded in 1959 with the purpose of providing quality groundwater through clean water projects, effective management of resources, and water supply programs. WRD provides these services for 420 square miles and the 43 cities within its geographical boundaries.

WRD Board President, Albert Robles, said, “We are excited to have Jamie Casso serve as our District Counsel. My colleagues and I were impressed with the experience Meyers Nave and Jamie bring to WRD.” Robles continued, “We look forward to working together.”

Casso is a member of Meyers Nave’s Los Angeles office and of the firm’s Public Law Practice Group. Currently, he serves as the City Attorney and Redevelopment Agency Counsel for the City of La Puente. Casso also serves as agency counsel for the Community Development Commission of the South El Monte Improvement District and the City of Guadalupe’s Community Redevelopment Agency. Prior to returning to private practice, Casso served as the longtime Chief of Staff for former United States Congressman Esteban E. Torres. He is a graduate of Georgetown University Law School and the University of California, San Diego.

Meyers Nave’s Public Law Practice Group members serve as contract city attorney for nearly 30 cities throughout the state of California. They advise and represent clients in areas such as land use, environmental law, public works, finance and taxation, and election law.
