Senior HR Manager

Meyers Nave is seeking a Senior HR Manager to lead the Firm’s HR Department.  If you are looking for a senior leadership position with a seat at the table, you’ve found it.  As a champion of the Meyers Nave culture and values, this role leads the Firm’s strategic human resources function and provides leadership to the Firm as a whole on human capital issues; plans and delivers our people strategies and programs; and will lead, manage and develop the HR team.


The position reports to the Firm’s COO and will work closely with the Firm’s Executive Committee to develop, coordinate and implement Firm-wide policies and programs encompassing all aspects of the Firm’s human resources functions for all lawyers and administrative staff; participates in fostering an organizational culture that is committed to professional excellence and mutual respect; and that values differing perspectives and backgrounds.

The Senior HR Manager brings innovative leadership, makes data-driven decisions, and serves as a trusted business advisor.  The right candidate will be a pro-active, independent, self-starter with a positive attitude and a proven track record of success; and have extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations pertaining to personnel and benefits matters and knowledge of HR trends and best practices.  A minimum of 10 years HR Management experience is required; experience working a law firm or professional services is strongly preferred.  Strong organizational and communications skills and the ability to prioritize workload, while maintaining flexibility are key.  If this sounds like you, we would love to speak with you about our exciting opportunity.


Who You Are


  • You have a Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree and professional HR certificates preferred)
  • You have 8+ years of experience leading HR teams
  • You’re deeply knowledgeable in CA and US employment law, HR-related policies, and a demonstrated history of solid judgment and experience assessing risk
  • You have a demonstrated history of executing initiatives in areas of benefits, performance management, employee relations, compliance, organizational design, onboarding, diversity, equity and inclusion, and HRIS and other HR tools/systems
  • You have experience leading organization-wide initiatives, working closely with cross-functional partners of all levels, and have the ability to prioritize multiple, large-scale initiatives simultaneously and exercise sound judgment when framing internal communications
  • You have strong communication skills (written and verbal) and a command of the English language, including proper spelling and grammar
  • You excel at persuasive communication rooted in data and conveyed in a way that inspires and motivates others and are comfortable being the authoritative voice of HR at team-wide, manager and executive meetings
  • You pay attention to details, setting the bar for high standards and holding yourself and others accountable for meeting those standards
  • You can juggle multiple projects and respond quickly to changing priorities;
  • You are computer savvy with familiarity with MS Office Suite (word, excel and powerpoint)
