ABOUT THE POSITION
The Senior Docketing Specialist collaborates with legal practice assistants to provide master calendaring support to attorneys and employees in litigation and regulatory matters handled throughout the Firm.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The position’s essential functions include but are not limited to:
- Review, analyze and process docketing requests received through mail, courier, ECF or personal request;
- Review relevant documents, conduct research, consult applicable court rules and other information to provide accurate, comprehensive docketing reports and updates;
- Generate daily calendar reports and distribute to secretaries and paralegals; prepare ad-hoc docketing reports and support as requested;
- Work with secretaries, paralegals and attorneys to ensure any discrepancies in calendar dates are appropriately resolved and correct;
- Assist with periodic audits of the docketing database, proactively identifying and responding to underlying issues identified;
- Provide in-depth, detailed, and analytical research on calendar-related issues and questions;
- Collaborate closely with Group employees to ensure calendars are formatted and prepared in accordance with Firm best practices;
- Perform overtime work as required;
- Maintain composure, efficiency and accuracy under high work volume circumstances;
- Demonstrate excellent customer support;
- Work cordially, cooperatively and productively with all Firm employees; and
- Other functions as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
The following qualifications are required:
- A four-year degree from an accredited university or college, paralegal certificate or equivalent work experience;
- Three (3) years of progressively responsible work experience as a Docketing Specialist working in either a law firm, in house legal department or professional services firm setting, (law firm experience is preferred);
- Proficiency with the CompuLaw legal docketing system or similar law firm docketing application;
- Working understanding of California State and Federal rules of civil procedure;
- Demonstrated ability to maintain high ethical standards and strict confidentiality of all information that the employee may receive in the course of her or his employment;
- Demonstrated ability to maintain and update skills as required by the position;
- Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; and
- Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate (in person, by phone and in writing) with a diverse group of attorneys, non-attorney employees and vendors with courtesy and professionalism.

The pay range for this position, working in our Los Angeles, Oakland, or San Diego offices is $35.00 to $51.00 per hour depending on location and experience.
