Friends and colleagues,

I am both humbled and honored by the Board’s decision to elect me as President for the upcoming 2021 term. The generosity of our Association, in spirit and in service, cannot be understated and I owe a great debt for the professional development and friendships that we have shared over the years. I will work hard to carry this mantle and the tradition of leadership exemplified by those who have come before.

I must admit that it is hard to look ahead to 2021 with any sense of certainty when we do not yet know what this fall will look like. We face difficult decisions about when we can safely meet again in person, what those meetings will look like, and how that will impact the traditional social glue that has for so long defined and sustained our Association. I look forward to working with each of you to help chart that course forward. And I am confident that we can continue and expand upon the new technologies utilized of necessity while restoring many of our more traditional activities.

If we focus together on what makes our Association unique and valuable, and particularly on fostering and maintaining our relationships with each other and with the community as a whole, we can come through this next year strong and vibrant together.
