Kristof Szoke is a highly skilled senior litigation Associate with comprehensive trial experience.
Kristof Szoke is a Senior Associate in the Trial and Litigation, and Eminent Domain and Inverse Condemnation Practice Groups.
Kristof represents clients in high-stakes litigation matters in state and federal courts. His experience includes second-chairing trials—including a recent case on behalf of L.A. Metro that resulted in an overwhelmingly favorable civil jury verdict—as well as advocating on behalf of clients in mediation. Kristof manages all phases of litigation, including presenting oral argument, conducting and defending depositions, overseeing discovery, and preparing both experts and fact witnesses to testify.
In the area of eminent domain law, Kristof has represented public entities in connection with massive public improvement projects including the City of Inglewood’s NFL Stadium/Hollywood Park project, L.A. Metro’s Westside Purple Line extension project, the City of South San Francisco’s Civic Campus Center project, and the City of Modesto’s SR99/Pelandale Ave. interchange reconstruction project.
Kristof also writes about evolving issues facing public entities, including the phenomenon of “First Amendment auditors” who routinely videotape and potentially disrupt municipal employees in their day-to-day work. His publications include papers provided at conferences by the International Municipal Lawyers Association and the League of California Cities, as well as articles in Los Angeles Lawyer magazine.
Kristof started his career working in the New York office of a large international law firm where he gained experience litigating complex commercial cases, handling intellectual property matters (trademarks, copyright, and trade secrets), and resolving disputes during bankruptcy proceedings.
