Ashlyn Marquez
Overview
Ashlyn N. Marquez advises employers on labor and employee relations, with a focus on collective bargaining, workplace strategy, and day-to-day counsel. She represents government entities and private organizations, helping clients manage negotiations, labor actions, and compliance issues with a steady, pragmatic approach. She brings firsthand experience at the bargaining table and a clear understanding of how labor decisions affect management operations.
Ashlyn works closely with clients to understand priorities and develop strategies that are practical, defensible, and aligned with organizational goals. Her experience includes leading and supporting collective bargaining, serving as second chair in arbitration, and managing matters before the Public Employment Relations Board and the National Labor Relations Board. She regularly advises on performance management, discipline, reasonable accommodation, and labor responses during periods of heightened employee activity. Clients value her emphasis on preparation, respect at the table, and clear communication throughout the process.
Much of Ashlyn’s practice is rooted in the government sector. Since 2018, she has advised California government agencies on labor and employee relations matters, including negotiations and labor disputes. She brings perspective from both labor and management, having previously represented unions before transitioning to management-side roles. That background helps clients anticipate challenges and address issues before they escalate.
Before joining the firm, Ashlyn was an Associate at a midsize law firm advising government agencies, private non-profits, and schools on labor and employment matters. She also served as a Labor and Employee Relations Officer for the Judicial Council of California, advising the California Superior Courts and leading collective bargaining efforts.
