Avoiding Workplace Investigation Pitfalls: Best Practices from a Litigator’s Perspective

Employers use internal investigations to help understand workplace disputes, identify possible resolutions, and to prevent and correct unlawful discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. Unfortunately, a poorly conducted investigation can cause unintended harm, especially in litigation. In this session, you’ll learn about mistakes to avoid in planning for and conducting investigations from a litigator’s perspective. You’ll learn about the importance of planning and identifying the scope of the investigation, identifying who should conduct the investigation, avoiding bias in investigations and examples of investigators who have been deposed.
